Jim, as he goes by, is a native of South Williamsport, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Lock Haven University in 1971 and his Master of Divinity from Colgate Rochester Divinity School in 1975.

Prior to his previously mentioned appointments, he served as Pastor in Dillsburg for 9 years and has also served churches in Mansfield and Trout Run. Jim has served on various Conference boards and agencies, including the Board of Church and Society, the Board of Stewardship and the Board of Ordained Ministry. He has also been a mentor for new pastors and a leader in district and ecumenical activities. His community involvement has included service clubs, youth sports and civic responsibilities.
